I’m an advisor, author, and entrepreneur living in Berlin, Germany. I publish a monthly newsletter, “The Tough Question”, about the intersection of tech, society, and communication.
In my advisory practice OPAK we offer bespoke and discreet communications advisory services.
As a writer and speaker I focus on the changing nature of work. In my new book Die Optimierungslüge I'm challenging the way tools and processes have taken over much of our workday, making us less productive, less creative and unhappy.
As a journalist I’ve worked in editorial and management roles at Brand Eins, Monocle, Vanity Fair, Welt am Sonntag, and SZ-Magazin. My texts have also been published in – amongst others – Die Zeit, GQ, AD, Spiegel, and Stern.
My earlier non-fiction books “Morgen komm ich später rein”, “Meconomy”, “Rethinking Luxury”, and “Digitale Erschöpfung” have been translated into five languages. I give keynotes and host workshops based on the books’ topics.
As a member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a guest lecturer at ESCP Business School, and emeritus board member of the Future of Work department of the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW) I enjoy teaching as well as working in academia and non-profit roles.
I was Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Rethink as well as Executive Director at C3. Here, I have worked for clients such as Lufthansa, Volkswagen, EY, Microsoft, Google, Bosch, Deutsche Telekom, Commerzbank, Vodafone, RolandBerger, Deutsche Bank, PWC, HUK, IKK classic, Congstar, Edeka, Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband, and NXP, amongst many others.
