I'm a communications advisor, author, and entrepreneur living in Berlin, Germany. I publish a monthly newsletter, "The Tough Question", about the intersection of tech, society, and communication. I'm also a columnist for t3n magazine.
Through my advisory practice OPAK, I create communication strategies and bespoke narratives for individuals and organizations, and guide them on where and how to use AI to scale and personalize content production.
As a writer I focus on the changing nature of work. My non-fiction books Die Optimierungslüge, "Morgen komm ich später rein", "Meconomy", and "Digitale Erschöpfung" have been translated into five languages, and I have contributed to many other books as well. I give keynotes and host workshops based on the books' topics.
I've been invited to speak at companies, universities and technology summits all over Germany, as well as worldwide, ranging from SXSW to the Monocle Quality of Life Conference. I'm an experienced and lively speaker who explains complex topics in a comprehensible and entertaining way – in person or remote. These days I mostly speak about how AI changes the future of work. I'm a regular panelist and interview partner for national and international media.
As a journalist I've worked in editorial and management roles at Brand Eins, Monocle, Vanity Fair, Welt am Sonntag, and SZ-Magazin. My texts have also been published in – amongst others – Die Zeit, GQ, AD, Spiegel, and Stern.
I'm a member of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a guest lecturer at ESCP Business School, and emeritus board member of the Future of Work department of the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW).
I was Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Rethink as well as Executive Director at C3. Here, I have worked for clients such as Lufthansa, Volkswagen, EY, Microsoft, Google, Bosch, Deutsche Telekom, Commerzbank, Vodafone, RolandBerger, Deutsche Bank, PWC, HUK, IKK classic, Congstar, Edeka, Deutscher Sparkassen- und Giroverband, and NXP, amongst many others.
